Exodus Challenge

We stand for those who cannot stand for themselves. We love the loveless. We go where your light’s not shining. We shine like a city on a hilltop. We boast in the Spirit living in us. We march on a road leading to freedom. We reach out our hands to the fallen.

We bring living water to the thirsty. We live for the One who was and is and is to come. Our life counts for something greater than ourselves. Our anthem will be a song of praise to the King, ‘He is worthy. He is worthy.’

“Is not this the fast I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?” Isaiah 58

Millions of exploited children in the world; Thousands in our own country; hundreds in our own backyard. The Gospel demands that we raise our heads up from our own lives and do something about it. So this is our declaration: We will stand for those who cannot stand for themselves.

lyrics from “We Are the Body of Christ” by Mandi Mapes and Jim Watkins
